The 2010 wedding season is now in full swing. Lauren and I photographed a very nice wedding (of Rachel and Adam) at the Fontainebleau this past Sunday after photographing their rehearsal party Saturday at the Moakley House which is located on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University.
The weather was spectacular for both occasions, and we were all pleased with our good fortune. I always enjoy the many interesting people that I meet at the various weddings that I/we photograph, and at this wedding I happened to meet one of the bride's uncles, Dr. Steven Garner who for the past eleven years has been a guest on Fox News "Ask the Doctor" program.
To my surprise on Monday morning, Steven's administrative assistant called me to let me know that Dr. Garner was going to be on Fox news at 12:42 that day, so I tuned in to the program a couple of hours later to watch Dr. Garner in action live on TV.
On a slightly different note, this has been a particularly busy week for new wedding bookings in that we've booked three new weddings for this season within the past two days (and it's likely that we'll be booking a fourth by the end of today). This is why I've entitled this posting "When it Rains, it Pours"..
In spite of the increasing trend of many couples hiring very inexpensive and inexperienced photographers (who are often poorly trained and equipped) to photograph their weddings, there are still many couples who understand that there are many major advantages and significant value in going with seasoned professionals.
Typically we book most of our weddings a year in advance or so, but this year many clients tend to be booking a bit later than is usually the case. In any event, we're thankful for all of our excellent clients and very much look forward to providing them with our very best in signature-style photojournlalism.
Nice story i appreciate with u.
