I have been recently working on a project with a good friend of mine Micky Roof, who is a very talented jewelry designer and owner of The Jewel Box which is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind jewelry store located on the inlet near Cayuga Lake here in Ithaca.
Originally from Philadelphia, Micky loves living in the Finger Lakes region of New York State (and so do I!), and one of her most sought after jewelry collections is called "The Heart of the Finger Lakes Collection" which can take the form of a necklace, charm, etc. The lovely pieces from this collection that I have seen are essentially heart shaped, are made of various precious metals, and have all of the Finger Lakes etched into them. People who receive these as gifts absolutely love them!
Recently, Micky asked me if I would be interested in putting together a collection of framed posters which feature couples who've recently become engaged or married in the Ithaca and Finger Lakes areas, and at Cornell (featuring my photography, of course).
The posters would be displayed at Micky's lovely store, The Jewel Box, and we thought this would be a great way to co-promote our work and to remind people of what a spectacular area this is to have one's wedding (not to mention all of the other great things that people enjoy here).
